Introduction to the Kruger Big 5 Tour
The Kruger National Park is one of the very special highlights of South Africa. In the northeast of South Africa lies the incredibly beautiful park, known for its variety of animal and plant species that can live there freely and are still under special protection. Not only the park itself but also its incredibly beautiful surroundings attract many visitors every year, who all want to see and enjoy these special natural landscapes with their own eyes. On our adventure trip, we will closely explore the Kruger National Park for two days and observe all sorts of wild animals in their natural environment. We will spend the nights in a fixed tent within the national park reserve, so pure adventure! In the mornings, we will also have the chance to take a bushwalk through the park and will be treated to traditional African food in the evenings. On the last day of our trip, we will drive along the Panorama Route to Johannesburg and visit many special sights along the way.
Daily program: Africa's largest national park and unique landscapes
Day 1: Johannesburg to Kruger National Park
We leave the bustling metropolis of Johannesburg behind and head east through the coalfields of Mpumalanga. Today's journey follows the old trade routes to the Lowveld and the Kruger National Park. We set up our camp for the next three nights at our base and enjoy a lovely sundowner drive. Included highlight: Sundowner drive.
Day 2: Kruger National Park
In the morning we head into the Kruger National Park for a full day safari. Our activity package allows you to explore the park in an open safari jeep, which can reach areas that our truck cannot always access. Included highlight: Full day safari in Kruger Park in a 4x4 safari jeep.
Day 3: Kruger National Park – Panorama Route
As is usual on safari, we rise early to undertake a guided bush walk. Walking in the bush offers a unique opportunity to explore the small details of this magnificent wilderness area. After our walk, we leave the park and drive along the scenic Panorama Route, where we will visit God's Window, Bourke's Luck Potholes, and the three Rondavels. In the evening we return to camp for a lovely dinner and a dance. Included highlight: Morning bush walk in Kruger Park / The Panorama Route (God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes and Three Rondavels).
Day 4: Kruger National Park to Johannesburg
We enjoy our last drive through the park before departing for the Belvedere Estate Hotel. We arrive at Belvedere Estate in the late afternoon, and all travelers are invited to join us tonight for a traditional meal. This can be booked with the guide the day before. Many great stories will be shared and told, and it promises to be a sociable evening, which predicts a beautiful end to this little safari trip. Included highlight: Half-day drive in the morning in the truck. Optional activity: Traditional meal at Belvedere Estate.
